This is the end… almost..

Today is the last day of classes for fall semester!

I can’t believe how quickly it has gone by. It’s been a whirlwind of assignments, exams, stress, but more importantly another semester of getting to know my amazing classmates. I really wouldn’t have made it through this semester without the support of all the wonderful people in my class. It’s a bittersweet moment just before every break; I’m always excited to go back home, but I really do miss my classmates, even if it’s only for a month. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like when we’re all on fourth year rotations..  But there’s still plenty of time before I need to get sad about that.

In the meantime, I have finals to look forward to; Monday-Thursday: Kinetics, Med Agents, Therapy, and Pharmacology. I’m not even sure where to begin. It feels like I haven’t had a whole semester of stuff to study since it went by so fast, but it also feels like there’s so much information that I won’t ever be able to get through it all. I just keep thinking about that gleaming little light at the end of the tunnel. Come 12pm, Thursday, I’ll be down yet another semester and I can take a break and relax–actually relax, without that nagging voice in the back of my head saying, “Shouldn’t you be studying…” Right now, that nagging voice is right. I should be studying.

So readers, until next semester, for more PHun with PHarmacy PHriends and PHamily. (Yes, I am that nerdy..)  I hope you all had a wonderful semester, and I wish you the best of luck on all of your finals. I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing winter break.

Crunch Time!

Where have I been these days? Well, I’ve been……busy…. you know… the typical second-year response. Anyway, thanksgiving was a much needed break and I finally had some time to hang out with my non-pharmacy school friends. Food was yummy of course. Had to hop on the treadmill the next day since I probably gained like 10lbs. The best thing that ever happened to me this semester was the unexpected “snow day”. Oh snow… it’s a love and hate relationship. The Duluth campus was closed and due to our one college policy, the Twin Cities campus was closed as well. We originally had an exam and a quiz scheduled that day, but they were postponed due to the snow day. Otherwise, last week would have been the worst week of this semester! Time is money! Having an extra day off means we get to have an extra day to study!

One more week of classes then it’s finals! Almost done with the busiest semester of pharmacy school. Hang in there my fellow PD2 classmates! And good luck on finals ya’ll.

Christmas Party

Yesterday, my friend Elaine hosted a christmas party and a few of my fellow PD1s  gathered to celebrate the occasion. We had potluck-style dinner and played board games after. There were apple cider, mashed potatoes, sticky rice, lasagna, and more. I cannot believe the semester is already coming to an end, and there is only one week of school left. The time had definitely gone by so quickly.

Snow is falling outside again! How cold is it outside? Well, I got a flat tire today, and it is likely that the air in the tires contracted due to the subzero temperature.

With that said, I hope everyone is staying warm inside and finish the semester strong ! :]

Pretty much the best two words ever! I hate snow.. a lot! But when it gets me a snow day on what was scheduled to be quite possibly the worst day of the semester, I really can’t complain. No pharmacology quiz, no therapy TBL quizzes, no Kinetics exam!!! My roommate and I literally jumped up and down screaming with joy! I think I’m more excited about snow days now than I was as a kid. And to celebrate? I studied, and studied some more, and then a little bit more!

I’ve also been looking out the window into our parking lot where cars are buried under the snow. I’m definitely not looking forward to digging my car out tomorrow but I’ll take the hassle of digging out in exchange for more study time! Or… I can hope for a second snow day and no med agents exam?! I know.. I’m asking for a wee bit too much, but a boy can dream right?!

In the meantime, hot chocolate, warm blankets, and STUDYING! It makes me even more excited for winter break when it’ll just be the hot chocolate and warm blankets. Only 15 more days to go! Cannot wait..

Hope you all are being productive on this blizzardy day! Stay warm and be safe! And keep your fingers crossed for a second snow day!
